The Acqua Crackle handcrafted terra cotta body ceramic Mexican tile is available in two sizes: 4x4 and 2x2 in. They offer an authentic rustic and elegant feel. You can see the hand of the artisan in each detail of the crakle collection of tiles.

The Mexican Crackle Ceramic Tile Collection is hand-made, hand-cut, and hand-glazed. This Mexican tile collection features a rustic, handmade artisan look. At the heart of these tiles are the pronounced purposely created crackles that harness the beauty of color and light. Mexican Crackle Tiles are one hundred percent handmade, consequently there are inherent variations in size, color, and texture.

Characteristics of Mexican Crackle Ceramic Tile Collection:

• PLEASE NOTE: All sizes posted for our Mexican Crackle tile on this web site are nominal sizes (not actual size). Due to the handcrafted nature of our ceramic tiles their ACTUAL SIZE is approximately 4 1/8 x 4 1/8 in.  
  
  Also, note that our handcrafted Mexican Crackle ceramic tiles are not perfectly square. The height and length of a tile may not be the same. Measurements within a tile may vary by as much as 1/8 in. 

• Penetrating sealer is recommended.

• Characterized as unique, irregular, functional, and expressive.

• All our Mexican Cracked tiles have a red body bisque.

• Mexican Crackle tiles may be concave (not perfectly flat).

• Mexican Crackle tiles have a 1/2" thickness. Larger and smaller tiles vary in thickness accordingly.

• Colors will vary largely, as there is glaze pooling in each tile.

• Variations in contour and size are standard.

• The tiles are slippery when wet if used as floors.

• Crazing is pronounced, and can be enhanced by using a contrasting colored grout.

• Industry standard recommends to add on 5-10% additional to the tile needed to account for waste, special cuts, or other unforeseen problems. This is particularly important in complex installations.

• Lot variation in size and color may be present from shipment to shipment. There is no guarantee that tiles ordered as add-ons will match those from the original orders. This is an inherent characteristic in all ceramic tiles, and particularly in all handcrafted tiles.

• Crackle ceramic Mexican tiles are NOT frost proof.

Suitable Tile Usage for Mexican Crackle Tile Collection:

• All wall residential and commercial applications.

• Bathroom walls, showers, back splashes, fireplaces, counters, and floors.

• Light-use flooring: as accents flooring, or as a border to define an area.

• Light-use countertop.

• Outdoor use is subject to climate. Talavera tiles are NOT frost proof.
